clock does not work on Brand new smeg cucina DOSF4...

clock does not work on Brand new smeg cucina DOSF44X. Have installed for the first time and "A "keeps flashing. also the timed cooking symbol appears constantly and cannot be removed. have switched off and tried various ways of setting but nothing works.
