5 Have you replaced the fan and cleaned the coils? If so, then did you notice if the coils are copper/aluminum? An easier way to determine this is by knowing the date of manufacture. All units manufactured before fall 2003, had copper/aluminum coils. This represented a problem, as the coils started corroding. Therefore, the coolant escaped completely. To fix this, follow these steps; 1. FIRST AND FOREMOST, DON'T REPAIR ANYTHING YOURSELF. ONLY ALLOW A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN TO WORK ON THE REFRIGERATOR HIMSELF. THERE IS TOO MUCH RISK OF POSSSIBLE ELECTROCUTION, RESULTING IN DEATH. SO LET THE TECH DO HIS JOB. 2. Make sure the freezer does not have this issue due to the lack of liquid water. Otherwise contact your nearest Repair Company, and follow step 2. Otherwise, your refrigerator is now fixed. 3. Let the technician know that there is a problem with the evaporator coils. He will check to see if the coils are corroded, in which case the technician will go ahead and order a new coil. 4. Make sure to tell him, that you will need an all aluminum replacement coil, as it will corrode. As long as the refrigerator still is under warranty, then they will send a replacement part, which is made of all aluminum. Make sure you let the tech know about this, as it is very important.
