5 If it keeps icing up it could be a sign of something else. If the freon level gets low, the refrigerator keeps on running and you get the icing you describe. My 501r is near its last stand, and that is exactly what I have. We had it recharged but it has a slow leak so eventually it gives us the icing situation. The other thing that can cause that is if the main gasket isn't sealing right, and you get humid air into the fridge, which condenses and then freezes on the backplane.

4 wow, its been 3 years since i had this problem and its still on the web... i had to have the coils replaced and it cost appx $800-$950 for the repair :( $175 was just for travel cuz of the distance of the house from civilization:) when the tech removed the back of the unit, ice was still there on the coils.. a pin hole where the freon leaked out. so far so good.. not to brag cuz i have another set of sub zero's at another place just waiting to give me @#$" :) hope this helped, love the separate frig and freezer sets

0 I have (had) the same problem with my Sub Zero, and now there is no ice on the wall but the refrigerator is leaking. I just looked to see if the bottom drain was clogged but there's no drain, only a flex-tube going through a grommet. There is no water below the vegetable bins - dry as a bone. This started after a 2-week power outage (Hurricane Gustav) and then a thorough cleaning. At first there was ice - so I turned the setting down, but the the leaking began.
