Changing POWER strength with POWER button?...

I cannot find anywhere in the manual for the Model SM0701A7E where it explains how to cook something on, say, 50% power. I press the Power button before pressing a number, after pressing a number...all kinds of combinations. But I cannot figure out how it works. I simply want to warm something up, e.g., 1 minute at 50% power. How do I do this?
