Tappan Dishwasher Model # MDB202RBW0... I cannot r...

Tappan Dishwasher Model # MDB202RBW0... I cannot remove the screw located on top of the Impeller (it simply spins in place, leading me to assume that it's been stripped, but for whatever reason won't just slide up and out of the impeller). Is there anything I can do?
