Had an element go on my Teknika T948/1 oven, had it replaced by an independent tec. Now the temp control does not cut out when it hits the desired temp, hence the oven now just burns everything. I rang the guy, but he insists that it’s not his problem and that they are separate issues. He said he would come and fix it but it would cost me another service call and a new thermostat. Can’t help feeling I’m being mugged!!! Any ideas? Is it possible changing the element may affect the thermostat?

5 9/10 when an oven is always on high it means that the capillary thermostat is faulty and needs to be replaced. A capillary thermostat is designed to cut power to the oven element when the desired temp setting is reached

0 Changing the Element won't affect the thermostat they are seperate issues. My Advice to you is next time make sure the tech checks everything before he leaves and for peace of mind buy a cheap digital thermometer to check that the oven pilot light turns OFF on the desired setting(+/- 10% accuracy is accepatable)
