the motor does not stay on after 3-5 seconds, and...

the motor does not stay on after 3-5 seconds, and it is not sucking the air out of the bags. Is this machine shot? Because it is an older model, I cannot get any information from the company regarding it. It sat in a cabinet for about 5 years, not used, as we didn't know we had it. any help is appreciated. Thank you

0 Thank you, but I already have the manual. I would love to save this machine so I can use it. Hopefully someone out there has had the same issues as I am having and can help.
