5 If there is anything on your heat strip you will not be able to get a good connection between the bag and the machine. We clean our strip off pretty often when this occurs. How old is your machine? Our heat strip also failed on ours and we had to replace it to keep sealing the bags. If you store the machine with little use this can happen but excessive use of the smaller models tends to cause the smaller parts to slowly fail as well. We had a model that was only a few years old and they stopped making parts for it and we had to just chunk it and replace it because even they couldn't fix it without the parts. We use ours every week. So I guess you could say we are on the excessive side.
