How to clean inside of electric kettle...

Is there a way to get inside to clean the kettle? There is no button or anything to release top.

-1 The two buttons on the top lid near the handle must be depressed together to release the lid latch. Once released, the lid can swing up on a hinge, and the interior of the kettle is accessible.
