Recently I did a self clean with my Built in GSC308 and after the self cleaning procedure, my lower oven no longer works. My husband has reset the circuit breaker and the upper oven works fine, however nothing below. Can someone please advise as to what the problem may be. We purchased this in May 2007 and have only been in our new home for 10 months and this has now happened.

0 We had exactly the same problem with exactly the same oven. Service guy (warranty) said the cabinet overtemperature stat had failed. This is apparently a one-time non-resettable stat, intended for fire safety. He also said "they do this all the time". Sigh. He ordered a replacement; the part has showed up. I am now on hold with Whirlpool to schedule a return service visit to install the part. Next time we try to do a self-clean, I predict exactly the same thing will happen. Can you say "cheap lousy design" ??? I guess I should be glad it didn't catch the kitchen on fire, eh?
