The light should shine green, yellow, or red, when the water is running, indicating the filter life. My light shines all the time, and in two days it is glowing red, even though I just replaced both filters and batteries.

0 Your electrical connection to the light is stuck. It should go off when you shut the water off, no matter if your filter is old or new. Your batteries are burning out, and that's why they are red. They are probably green when you replace them. Make sure the valve shuts off completely and that the light goes off with the water.
