5 Closethelidandputthecarafeonthehotplate.NOTE:
Thelidmustbettedtothecarafeinordertooperatethe
anti-dripvalve.
6 Pluginandswitchon.
7 Don’tremovethecarafeuntilbrewinghasnished.When
thecarafeisempty,switchoandunplugtheappliance.
The hot plate will keep your coee hot, but the sooner you
drink it, the better it will taste.
Your coee maker will keep the coee warm and then
automatically switch o after 2 hours.
If you have not used the appliance for a while, run one full
tank of water (without coee) through to clean it out.

tanttoensureyouusefreshlteredwater.Werecom-
mend using ltered water as it will reduce limescale and
prolongtheuseofyourcoeemaker.

machine.Orifyougrindyourownbeanssetthegrinderto

willpassthroughtheltertooslowlyresultingin‘over-
extraction’;yourcoeewilltastebitter.Ifparticlesaretoo
large, water will pass through too quickly resulting in ‘un-
der-extraction’;yourcoeewilltasteweakandwatery.

The Maintenance~Usepaperltersorapermanentlterei-
thertypeissuitabletoproducegreatcoee.Werecom-
mend that you rinse your permanent lter with water
after every use as any residual detergent could taint your
coee.Disposeoftheusedgroundsimmediatelyafter
usetopreventdripthroughofunwantedavorstrapped
intheusedcoeegrounds.Trytokeepyourcoeema-
chine clean, especially the shower head as this will help
toprolongyourmachineandmaintainperfectbrewing.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before carrying out any cleaning operations, switch the appliance
o,unplugitfromthepoweroutlet,andletitcooldown.
• Donotusesolventsorabrasivedetergentstocleanthe
appliance.Asoftdampclothissucient.
• Neverimmersethecoeemakerinwater:itisanelectrical
appliance.
• Don’twashpartsinthedishwasher.

To descale
Ifthewaterinyourareaishard,limescaledepositsmaybuild
upovertime.Thesedepositsmayaectthecorrectoperation
oftheappliance.Itisrecommendedtodescaletheappliance
after60uses.
1 Buyasuitabledescaler.Followtheinstructionsprovided
withtheproduct.
2 Descalethemachine.
3 After descaling, run at least two full tanks of water
(withoutcoee) through thecoee maker to cleanit
out.
