4 Have just replaced the 240 v heating element on an RM7291L in a Balieys Senator Arizona. Slightly complicated but a bit of patience and the right tools and its achievable. I opted to remove the sink and drainer which provided clear access to the top of the fridge and the gas coupling to the back right hand side. There are four screws at the front of the inside of the fridge when you open the door. Blanking plugs need to be removed to access them. Remove these screws and 'gently' ease the fridge out of the enclosure as far as it will go. Disconnect the gas supply ( ensure mains gas is disconnected !). The fridge will now come right out of the enclosure. ( you may need to unplug the mains if the lead is not long enough.) The mains element is connected to the control module via a push connector. To remove this you will have to remove the cover from the electronics module. To do this you need to first remove the two control knobs with a pair of pliers. You will then see two small star head screws which hold the grey control cover to the electronics module. Once removed, the control panel simply lifts away. You will now have clear access to 4 black star head screws on the top of the electronics module. Remove these and the cover will lift up giving you access to remove the mains element connector on the right hand side. Now the fun part. You will need to remove the 'exhaust' bracket which channels the heat and fumes from the gas burner to the vent in the side of the van. It simply lifts off. Then you need to remove the little adaptor which is held in place by a single black screw. Once removed you will be able to slide the cylindrical aluminium insulation jacket up about 3 inches or so which will enable you to gently lever the old 240v heating element out of its metal tube within the heat exchanger. ( In my case this was a litlle bit fiddely but gentle pressure applied to the side of the aluminium jacket enabled the element to simply lift straight out. Replacement is simply the reversal of the above. Make sure that you reconnect and test BEFORE refitting everything back into the enclosure. Good luck and dont forget to fully tighten the gas coupling again and test for leaks etc. P.S caravan fitter wanted £120 to replace the element. It cost me £31 and about 15 mins of my time !!
