The temperaturecontrolinyour
newovenhasbeencarefullyadjusted
toprovideaccuratetemperatures.
However,if thisovenhasreplaced
oneyouhaveusedforseveralyears,
youmaynoticea differenceinthe
degreeofbrowningorthelengthof
timerequiredwhenusingyour
favoriterecipesbecauseoven
temperaturecontrolshaveatendency
to “drift”overa periodofyears.
Beforeattemptingto havethe
temperatureofyournewoven
changed,be sureyouhavefollowed
thebakingtimeandtemperatureof
therecipecarefully.Then,after
youhaveusedtheovena fewtimes
andyoufeeltheovenistoohot
or toocool,thereis a simple
adjustmentyoucan makeyourself
ontheOVENTEMPknob.
Pulltheknobofftheshafiandlook
atthebackside.Thereis a discin
thecenteroftheknobskirtwitha
seriesofmarksoppositea pointer.

carefidlyloosen(approximately
oneturn), butdo notcompletely
removethetwoscrewsthatholdthe
skirtto theknob.Holdtheknob
biadeinonehandandtheouter
skirtintheotherhand.
To
raisetheoventemperature,
movethepointerin thedirectionof
ihearrowfor WISE. Tolowerthe
temperature,movethepointerin
thedirectionofarrowforLOWRR.
Eachmark willchangetheoven

pressskirtandknobtogetherand
retightenscrewssotheyaresnug,
butbecarefillnotto overtighten.

Note:Afieran adjustmenthas
beenmadetotheOVENTEMP
knob,OFF andBROILwillnot
lineup withtheindicatormarkon
thecontrolpanelastheypreviously
did. Thisconditionisnormaland
willnotcreatea problem.

Anair adjustmentshutterforeach
surfaceburnerregulatestheflowof
airto theflame.
When the right amountofair
flowsintothe burner,theflame
willbe steady,relativelyquietand
haveapproximately3/4.”sharpblue
cones.Thisis usuallythecasewith
fa.cto~presetshuttersettings.
Withtoomuchair,theflamewill
beunsteady,possiblywon’tburnall
thewayaround,andwillbenoisy,
soundinglikea blowtorch.
Withriotenoughair,youwon’tsee
anysharpblueconesintheflame,
YOUmayseeye~owtips,andsoot
mayaccumulateonpotsandpans.

Air adjustment shutter
Theair adjustmentshuttersseton
thehoodofthevalvesandare
positionedontheburnertubesby
frictionfit.
Toadjustthe flowof airtothe
burners,applya blade-type
screwdriveragainstthefriction-fit
shuttersandpushto adjustthe
shutters,allowingmoreor lessair
intotheburnertubesasneeded.

Theair adjustmentshutterforthe
ovenburnerregulatestheflowof
air totheflame.
Theshutterfortheovenburner
is nearthebackwalloftheoven
behindthebroilerdrawer.
Toreachtheshutter,remove
thebroilerdrawer(page19).
Toadjusttheflowof airto the
burner,loosenthePhdlipshead
screwandrotatetheshutterto
allowmoreor lessair intothe
burnertubeas needed.
Todetermineif theburnerflame
is proper~lighttheburner.The
flameshouldhave1/2”to 3/4”blue
coneswithnoyellowtipping,and
shouldnotextendoutoverthe
baffleedges.
