The different functions of the cooker and how they may be used
The various functions included in the cooker are selected
by operating the control devices located on the cooker
control panel.
Cut-off gas control (only on certain models)
The hotplate lid is fitted with a safety device which cuts off
the gas supply to all burners when the lid is closed. To
restore the gas supply proceed as follows:
Lift up the lid to the vertical position.
Make sure that all burner knobs are in the OFF position.
Rotate the cut-off knob anticlockwise to the ON position:
the cut-off valve will open and the knob will remain in
the ON position.
Warning: the gas supply will shut off automatically when
the lid is closed and the cut-off knob will return to the OFF
position automatically. Don’t turn the cut-off knob to the
OFF position manually, you may damage the safety device.
The oven and grill knob (5)
Check that Cut-OFF Gas Control (only on certain models)
is in ON position. Use the knob to select the different oven

This temperature is reached automatically and kept
constant by the knob-controlled thermostat. Before placing
food inside the oven this should be heated at maximum
temperature for approximately 15 minutes, and then the
knob should be rotated back to desired temperature.
Caution: Check that the burner has lit, through the holes
at the sides of the oven. When using the oven keep the lid
of the cooker completely open so that the fumes can
circulate through the vent and cut-off valve remains in ON
position.
Important Notice: Cooking utensils, dishes, etc., should
not be placed on the bottom floor of the oven. After placing
a lit match or lighter near the grill burner, press the knob
in all the way and turn it to the “Grill” setting (Fig. H), This
will turn on the grill with infrared rays which is ideal for
browning, as well as for cooking roasts, chops, sausage,
and roast-beef. When using the grill, place a dripping-pan
under the grill to catch the grease. Always make sure that
the flame is lit on both sides of the burner.
Since the cooker is equipped with a safety device on
oven burner, the knob must be kept pressed in for about
10 seconds to activate the flame failure device.
Turn the grill on a few minutes before placing food in the
oven. When using the grill the oven door should be left in
the intermediate STOP position.
Important: Before lighting the grill, the guard plate, as
supplied with the cooker, should be placed in position
(Fig. I).
