PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Before using the kettle for the first time (or
following a long period without use), the kettle
should be boiled 3 times.
1. Read the safety instructions through carefully.
2. Ensure that the cord is fully extended.
3. Fill the kettle with water until the water level
reaches the maximum filling level of 1.5 litres.
4. Switch on the kettle by pressing the on/off
button (5) “1”.
5. Pour out the water once it has boiled.
6. Repeat the process described under points 3-
5 three times.
USING THE KETTLE
1. Pour fresh water into the kettle. The kettle
must contain at least 0.5 l and no more than
1.5 l.
2. Place the kettle on its base (7), which should
be placed on a fixed, flat surface.
3. Switch the kettle on by pressing the on/off
button (5) “1”.
The indicator light (4) will now light up and the
water will boil within a few minutes, depending on
the amount of water in the kettle. If you want to
interrupt the boiling, you can do this at any time
by pressing the on/off button (5) “0” or by lifting
the kettle from its base (7).
When the water is boiling, the kettle will
automatically switch off thanks to the integrated
thermostat. The indicator light goes off and the
on/off button returns to the original position.
LIMESCALE FILTER
This kettle is equipped with a removable limescale
filter (8) that filters larger pieces of limescale when
water is poured from the kettle. The filter is
located at the front by the pouring spout.
Make sure you remove the filter regularly to
clean any limescale deposits from it.
Then refit the filter.
CLEANING
Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall
socket and allow the kettle to cool down.
Clean the external surfaces of the kettle with a
damp cloth. The kettle must not be
submerged in any form of liquid.
Do not use any kind of strong or abrasive
cleaning agent on the kettle or accessories.
Never use a scouring sponge or similar to
clean the kettle, as the surface may be
damaged.
The removable limescale filter can be cleaned
using a washing-up brush or similar. Make
sure you do not damage the filter membrane.
DESCALING
The lime content of ordinary tap water means
limescale may be deposited inside the kettle. This
limescale may be loosened using acetic acid
(NOT ordinary vinegar) or descaler, available in
supermarkets etc.
1. Mix 100 ml acetic acid with 300 ml cold
water, or follow the instructions on the
descaler packaging.
2. Pour the solution into the kettle and
switch it on.
3. Allow the solution to boil twice and then
pour it out.
4. To remove the final residues of limescale
and acetic acid, pour cold water into the
kettle again (up to the maximum mark)
and switch it on.
5. Pour out the water once it has boiled.
6. Repeat the process described under
points 4-5 three times.
7. The kettle is now ready for use again
.
