PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Before using the kettle for the first time (or
following a long period without use), the kettle
should be boiled 3 times.
1. Read the safety instructions through
carefully.
2. Fill the kettle with water to the maximum
mark and switch it on as described in
"Using the kettle". Allow the water to boil.
3. Pour the water out once it has boiled.
Repeat the process described in points 2-3 three
times.
USING THE KETTLE
1. Open the lid (1) by pressing the release
button (4).
2. Pour fresh water into the kettle. The kettle
must be filled to at least the minimum mark
(0.5 l), but no higher than the maximum
mark (1.7 l) indicated on the water level
gauge (2).
3. Close the lid again.
4. Place the kettle on its base (3) by
positioning it so the connector on the base
fits into the hole on the underside of the
kettle.
5. Plug the base in and check that it is
switched on at the wall.
6. Switch the kettle on by pressing the on
switch. The indicator light (7) comes on and
the kettle begins to heat up the water.
The water will boil within a few minutes,
depending on the amount of water in the kettle.
If you want to interrupt the boiling, you can turn
the kettle off at any time by pressing the off
switch. Once the water is boiling, the kettle will
automatically switch off thanks to the integrated
thermostat. The indicator light goes out.
Safety feature for boiling dry
If you switch the kettle on without there being
any water in it, the safety feature that prevents
the kettle from boiling dry automatically switches
the kettle off.
The kettle will work again after a few minutes.
Storage
If the kettle is to be stored for any length of time
without use, the cord can be rolled up around
the inside of the base. Check that the kettle is
clean and dry before storing.
CLEANING
Before cleaning, remove the plug from the
wall socket and allow the kettle to cool
down.
Clean the external surfaces of the kettle
with a damp cloth. The kettle must not be
submerged in any form of liquid.
Make sure that no water gets into the
connector on the base or the hole in the
underside of the kettle.
Do not use any kind of strong or abrasive
cleaning agent on the kettle or accessories.
Never use a scouring sponge or similar to
clean the kettle, as the surface may be
damaged.
The kettle’s limescale filter can be removed
by opening the lid, taking hold of the
limescale filter and carefully lifting it out.
Clean the limescale filter with a soft brush.
The limescale filter is replaced by putting
the pin on the limescale filter into the
corresponding hole inside the kettle and
then carefully pushing the limescale filter
forward towards the kettle’s spout until it
clicks into place.
DESCALING
The lime content of ordinary tap water means
limescale may be deposited inside the kettle.
This limescale may be loosened using acetic
acid (NOT ordinary vinegar) or descaler, available
in supermarkets, etc.
1. Mix 100 ml acetic acid with 300 ml cold
water, or follow the instructions on the
descaler packaging.
2. Pour the solution into the kettle and switch
it on.
3. Allow the solution to boil twice and then
pour it out.
4. To remove the final residues of limescale
and acetic acid, pour cold water into the
kettle again (up to the maximum mark) and
switch it on.
5. Pour the water out once it has boiled.
