Melissa 643-035 Toaster User Manual

INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your toaster, please
read these instructions carefully before
using it for the first time.
We also recommend that you save them in
case you need them at a later point to
remind yourself of the toaster’s functions.
IMPORTANT SAFETY MEASURES
- Read the user instructions all the way
through.
- Do not immerse the toaster, cord or plug
in any form of liquid.
- Always be on your guard if the toaster is
being used near children.
- Unplug the toaster for cleaning or when it
is not in use. Allow it to cool before
cleaning.
- If the toaster or cord is damaged, or if the
product is not functioning correctly, it
must be taken to a specialist for repair or
inspection, as specialist tools are
required. Use of unauthorised spare parts
may result in damage to the toaster.
- The toaster is for indoor use only.
- Do not allow the cord to hang over the
table edge or come into contact with hot
surfaces.
- The toaster must not be positioned on or
too close to a gas or electric cooker.
- Do not put foods packed in foil, very thick
slices or half slices of bread into the
toaster, as this may constitute a fire
hazard.
- Always ensure that there is no flammable
material in the vicinity of the toaster when
it is in use.
- The toaster must never be covered when
in use.
- Never attempt to remove the bread while
the toaster is in operation.
- The toaster should be regularly emptied
of crumbs, as these could cause a fire.
- The toaster is for ordinary household use
only.
- It must never be left unattended during
use.
- Never position the cord over the bread
slots while the toaster is hot.
- Be careful – the toaster gets extremely
hot during use.
- Never use the toaster without the crumb
tray.
IMPORTANT POINTS
- Remove all packaging from the bread
before placing it in the toaster.
- Do not toast bread with sugar or other
glazing on, or bread with fillings such as
toasted sandwiches with cheese etc.
- Avoid thick slices of bread, as they can
get stuck in the bread slot.
- If a slice of bread gets stuck, unplug the
toaster and allow it to cool down.
- Run the button up and down a few times
to loosen the bread. If the bread is still
stuck, turn the toaster over and carefully
shake it until the bread comes loose.
- Never use a metal object to loosen the
bread.
USE
- Please note that there may be some
smoke/odour the first few times the
toaster is used. This is entirely safe and
will soon cease.
- Plug the toaster in and switch it on.
- Place the bread in the slot. Set browning
level as required. This can be done by
turning the knob between 1 and 6, with 1
for the lightest and 6 for the darkest. The
browning level should not be adjusted
during toasting. Lower the bread. Please
note that it can only be lowered when the
toaster is plugged in and switched on.
The other toaster functions can only be
operated when the rack holding the
bread is lowered.
- Once the bread is toasted the rack pops
up into the top position.
