INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your new coffee
maker, please read through these
instructions carefully before using it for the
first time. We also recommend that you
keep the instructions for future reference,
so that you can remind yourself of the
functions of the coffee maker.
SAFETY MEASURES
Normal use of the coffee maker
• Incorrect use of the coffee maker may
cause personal injury and damage to
the machine.
• Use the coffee maker for its intended
purpose only. The manufacturer is not
responsible for any damage resulting
from incorrect use or handling (see also
the “Guarantee Terms” section).
• Use only accompanying accessories or
those recommended by the
manufacturer.
• The coffee maker may only be
connected to 230 V, 50 Hz.
• The coffee maker or cord must not be
placed in water or any other liquid.
• Never leave the coffee maker
unattended when in use, and keep an
eye on children.
• Never put hot or boiling water in the
reservoir. Use cold water only. Ensure
the appliance is switched off when
filling with water.
• The water level in the reservoir must not
exceed the MAX mark on the water
level gauge.
• Never put the glass pot on a cooking
ring or in an oven/microwave oven. Do
not place it on the hotplate when it is
empty or almost empty and the coffee
maker is switched on.
• Do not use the glass pot if it has a
loose or defective handle, or if it is
broken in any other way.
• The metal parts get very hot during use.
Touch the plastic parts only.
• The coffee maker should never be
switched on unless it contains water or
descaler. Ensure that there is water in
the reservoir if the coffee maker has
been programmed to start up at a later
point.
•Freshly-brewed coffee/tea and the
steam it generates are very hot. Take
care to avoid scalding yourself or
others.
• This coffee maker is not suitable for
commercial or outdoor use.
Positioning the coffee maker
• Always place the coffee maker at a safe
distance from heat sources such as
ovens, cooking rings or similar.
• Do not cover the coffee maker.
• Do not allow the cord to hang over the
edge of the counter, and keep it away
from hot objects and naked flames.
Cord, plug and mains socket
• Check regularly that the cord and plug
are not damaged and do not use the
coffee maker if they are, or if it has
been dropped or damaged in any other
way.
• If the coffee maker, cord or plug is
damaged, the appliance must be
inspected and, if necessary, repaired by
an authorised repair engineer, otherwise
there is a risk of electric shock. Never
try to repair the appliance yourself.
• Remove the plug from the socket when
cleaning, or when the coffee maker is
not to be used for a while.
•Avoid pulling the cord when removing
the plug from the socket. Instead, hold
the plug.
