IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
a l w ays be fo l l owed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury
to persons, including the fo l l ow i n g :
• Read all instructions before using ke t t l e.
• Do not touch hot surfa c e s. Use handle.
• This kettle is not for use by children.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near
c h i l d r e n .
• Do not operate unattended.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use. Unplug and allow to cool
b e fore cleaning and putting on or taking off part s .
• To disconnect, raise lever to OFF position, then remove plug from
p o wer supply.
• Do not operate a damaged ke t t l e. Do not operate with a damaged
cord or plug or after the kettle malfunctions, or has been dropped
or damaged in any manner. R e t u rn kettle to nearest authori ze d
s e rvice center for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical
a d j u s t m e n t .
• Do not immerse cord, plug, power base or kettle in water or other
l i q u i d . See instructions for cleaning.
• Use attachments only if recommended by the manu fa c t u r e r.
• Do not use outdoors or while standing in a damp area.
• Only use kettle as indicated in these instru c t i o n s .
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot sur-
fa c e s.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric bu rn e r, or in a heated
ove n .
• Be certain lid is securely in place before operating ke t t l e.
• Scalding may occur if the lid is opened during boiling.
• Do not operate without water in ke t t l e.
• Kettle must be left to cool down for approximately 5 minutes befo r e
adding more wa t e r.

C AU T I O N : A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the ri s k
of personal injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tri p p i n g
over a longer cord. Extension cords are ava i l a ble from local hardwa r e
stores and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an ex t e n -
sion cord is required, special care and caution is necessary. Also the
