General problems
Issue Possible fault Solution
Water is flowing out of
the appliance.
Close the shut-off valve immediately.
Check whether the water
pipe in the appliance is
defective.
Contact Miele Technical
Service.
Check whether the water
pressure is too low.
Contact a plumber.
Check whether the correct
water valve has been
installed.
Self-tapping valves and
3/16" (4.76 mm) saddle
valves reduce the water
pressure and can block
the pipe.
The door to the
freezer section will not
open.
This is not a fault.
The suction caused by
opening and closing the
door too many times in
succession prevents it
from opening.
Wait a few minutes, then
try again. It should now
open without force.
The compressor kicks
on very frequently and
for too long.
The ventilation slits are
covered or dusty.
Clean with a vacuum or
brush.
The door has been
opened too frequently, or a
large amount of unfrozen
food has been put in at
once for freezing.
Once the freezer gets
down to the set
temperature the
compressor will turn off.
The door is not closed. Check that the door has
been closed properly.
The freezer runs
continuously.
To save energy the compressor runs at a lower speed,
but for longer when less cooling is required.
The temperature
reading in the freezer
shows -18°C, although
a higher temperature
is set.
This is not abnormal. When the ice maker is in use and
the temperature of the room is above freezing the
temperature automatically stays at -18°C to ensure
proper functioning.
