ADJUSTMENT OF PILOT FLAME (GRIDDLE MODELS)
The pilots are adjusted at the factory. If later the pilots are over-adjusted to the point where the flame is
leaving its port, or “blowing off,” the result is an unstable condition in which the pilot may extinguish. If
necessary, adjust each burne r’s pilot using the following procedure:
1. Open the door on the lower front of the appliance, remove the thermostat knobs, and remove the
control panel by removing the screws holding it in place.
2. If necessary, light the pilots.
3. Locate the pilot adjustment valve (see Figure 15 below). Turn the pilot adjustment screw to the left to
increase the size of the pilot flame, or to the right to decrease the size of the pilot flame. The flame
should be about 1/2" high with a slight yellow tip, and cover the thermocouple tip. The flame is too high
if the yellow tip is producing black strea ks of carbon.
4. Repeat Step 3 for each pilot.
5. Replace the control panel and knobs.
