Before Brewing for the First Time
CAUTION: To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the
Coffee Maker or allow AC cord to come into contact with water or
other liquids.
1. After carefully unpacking from carton, the inside of your Coffee
Maker and Glass Carafe must be cleaned. Remove any labels from
the outer surfaces.
2. Brew 12 (5-oz.) cups of fresh water only. Follow the OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS, but do not add coffee grounds or paper filter to the
Removable Filter Holder.
NOTE: The Removable Filter Holder must be placed
into the Coffee Maker with the 2 handles, locat-
ed on the sides of the Filter Holder, aligning with
the 2 notches on the inside of the unit. Press
the Filter Holder down until it clicks into place.
3. When all the water has brewed into the Carafe,
press the ON/OFF Button so the unit is turned OFF.
4. Allow the Coffee Maker to cool for 15 minutes, discard the water
from the Carafe, then repeat steps 2 and 3.
5. After the second pot of water has cooled, discard the water and
thoroughly wash the Removable Filter Holder, Glass Carafe and
Carafe Lid in warm, soapy water. Dry all parts thoroughly.
Coffee Filters
Cone-shaped paper filters are available locally at grocery stores and
where coffee makers are sold.
We recommend using Melitta #4 cone-shaped filters.
The use of basket-style paper filters is not recommended, since they do
not conform to the shape of the Removable Filter Holder and may cause
coffee to back up and spill over during brewing.

Cet appareil demande peu d’entretien. Il ne renferme aucune pièce
devant être remplacée par l’utilisateur. N’essayez pas de le réparer vous-
même. Tout entretien nécessitant un démontage doit être effectué par un
technicien qualifié.
Instructions de nettoyage
NOTA: Ne rien mettre d’autre dans le réservoir d’eau que de l’eau ou la
solution de nettoyage faite d’eau et de vinaigre décrite dans le présent
guide.
1. Pour nettoyer votre cafetière après l’utilisation, veillez à ce qu’elle
soit à la position OFF, débranchée et refroidie. Jeter le filtre de papi-
er.
2. Nettoyer l’extérieur de votre cafetière et la plaque chauffante avec
un chiffon doux et humide, puis essuyer. Ne pas utiliser de nettoyeur
abrasif ou de tampon récurant.
3. Nettoyer à la main le porte-filtre amovible et le panier pour infuser le
thé dans de l’eau savonneuse tiède. NE PAS METTRE AU LAVE-
VAISSELLE.
4. La carafe de verre et son couvercle peuvent être lavés dans de l’eau
savonneuse tiède. NE PAS METTRE AU LAVE-VAISSELLE.
ATTENTION: Ne jamais plonger la cafetière dans l’eau ou dans tout
autre liquide.
ATTENTION: Rincer le réservoir d’eau périodiquement avec de l’eau
froide. NE JAMAIS utiliser de chiffon pour nettoyer ou assécher le
réservoir d’eau, car le chiffon laissera un résidu qui pourrait bouch-
er et endommager votre cafetière.
