IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed,
including the following:
Read ALL instructions.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
To protect against electrical hazards do not immerse cord, plug or
appliance base in water or other liquids.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow cooling
before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the
appliance to the nearest WAGAN products dealer for examination or
adjustment.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may cause hazards.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot
oil or other hot liquids.
Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
DO NOT PLUG IN COFFEE MAKER IN RESERVOIR.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
A short cord is attached to reduce the hazard resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
The 12V DC circuit should be used with the cigarette lighter plug only-DO NOT
REMOVE PLUG FROM CORD OR WIRE UNIT DIRECT
WHAT TO DO BEFORE USING
To remove manufacturing oils and compounds, thoroughly wash pot and basket
with warm, soapy water. Rinse well. Run two full pots of water through
reservoir. CAUTION: Do not immerse base in water.
IF 12 VOLT CIRCUIT FAILS TO OPERATE
Be sure the contact points in the cigarette lighter socket are clean. DO NOT USE
METAL TOOLS, use only insulators such as wood if cleaning is needed. The
adaptor plug should fit firmly in the cigarette lighter socket.
Check the fuse panel to be certain that the fuse controlling your cigarette lighter is
not worn or weak. To be certain of satisfactory performance, refer to vehicle
owner’s manual for proper fuse size.
Some cigarette lighters have a separate circuit breaker located directly behind the
cigarette lighter socket.
If your lighter is not working, the circuit breaker may have blown and requires
replacement. If so, refer to vehicle owner’s manual for proper size.
TO PREPARE DELICIOUS COFFEE
Fill reservoir to desired level with cold water. Add drip grind coffee to basket
using one tablespoon per cup. Vary amount to suit taste.
OPERATION
Plug into 12-volt lighter socket and note that the red indicator light on the front of
the unit is on. Complete brewing cycle will take approximately 25 to 35 minutes,
depending on operating conditions, water temperature and battery condition.
CAUTION: Prolonged use of any 12-volt appliance will cause excessive battery
discharge. It is recommended that the vehicle engine be run occasionally to
prevent excessive discharge
