USING YOUR KETTLE
First Use: Remove all packaging from the kettle and the power base. Before using
wash all loose parts in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry. NOTE: We
recommend that the kettle be boiled two to three times and emptied after each
occasion, to remove any residues from the manufacturing process.
1. Place appliance on dry, level, heat-resistant surface, away from any edge.
2. With switch in the “OFF” position, plug cord into a 120 volt AC electric outlet
only.
3. Filter must be in place to activate auto-shut off feature and for proper operation.
Fill the kettle, taking care not to splash the electrical contacts on the bottom of
the unit, and observing the MIN and MAX levels. If the electrical contact area of
the kettle is splashed, it should be dried or left to dry before use.
4. Fit the kettle onto the power base. Plug the power base into the electrical outlet
and depress the switch into the “ON” position. The red power indicator will
illuminate. When the kettle has finished boiling, the automatic cut-off system will
switch the kettle to the “OFF” position.
Always ensure the water fill does not exceed the MAX level and is above the
MIN level as indicated on or inside the kettle body.
Only use the kettle for boiling water.
Do not operate the kettle dry. Always use with water.
The kettle body can only be used with the complementing power base, and vice
versa: These parts cannot be interchanged with other types or brands of kettles
available.
Ensure the power is switched off before removing the kettle from the base.
Use extreme caution when pouring as boiling water can cause scalding.
Some smoke and/or odor may occur upon heating due to the release of
manufacturing oils – this is normal.
