SAFETY INFORMATION

Wax paper: To
prevent spattering.
Thermometers:
Only those labelled
“Microwave Safe”
and follow all
directions. Check
the temperature
of food in several
places. Conventional
thermometers may be
used on microwaved
food once the food
has been removed
from the oven.
Straw, wicker, and
wood: For short-
term heating, such as
warming dinner rolls
for a few seconds.
Baskets and bowls
may be ammable.
Aluminium tray: May
cause arcing. Avoid
aluminium foil this may
cause arcing.
Take-out carton with
metal handle: May cause
arcing. Transfer food to a
microwave-safe container.
Metal or metal-trimmed
utensils: Metal cookware,
metal trim, and metallic
glazes may cause arcing.
Also avoid metal skewers
and metal twisties.
Wood: Wood will dry
out when used in the
microwave oven and may
split or crack. Wooden
bowls, baskets and board
will dry out and may split
or crack when used in the
microwave.
Recycled paper towels,
paper plates and cups: May
contain metal and could
ignite.
NOTE: To test if a dish
is safe for microwaving,
place the empty dish in
the oven and microwave
on HIGH for 30 seconds. A
dish which becomes very
hot should not be used.
