To reset and disable SNMP settings, use the commands in Ta b l e 1 4
.
Checking Basic
Connectivity
The switch offers the
ping
command for checking basic connectivity. The
ping
command enables you to send Internet Control Message Protocol
(ICMP) echo messages to a remote IP device. The
ping
command is
available for both the user and administrator privilege level.
The
ping
command syntax is
ping {continuous} {size <n>} <ip_address>
Options for the ping command are described in Ta b l e 1 5 .
If a
ping
request fails, the switch continues to send
ping
messages until
interrupted. Press any key to interrupt a
ping
request.

SNMP Reset and Disable Commands
Command Description
disable snmp access
Disables SNMP on the switch. Disabling SNMP access does
not affect the SNMP configuration (for example,
community strings).
disable snmp traps
Prevents SNMP traps from being sent from the switch. Does
not clear the SNMP trap receivers that have been
configured.
unconfig management
Restores default values to all SNMP-related entries.
