• Make sure you have fresh batteries. With weak
batteries the UC-525 may have learning prob-
lems.

• Point the original remote to the bottom of the
UC-525. The learning eye is at its bottom.

• Try the learning procedure again. Repeated
“error” messages probably indicate that the
UC-525 does not recognize the particular IR

• The button that you pressed has not been con-
figured. Configure the button using the

The RECORD
button does not
work
• A feature of the UC-525 prevents the record
function of your Tape or VCR from starting un-
intentionally. Hold the RECORD button for
about 2-3 seconds for the command to be sent
to the VCR.
Problems learning
from 2-way re-
motes
• Some remotes return a confirmation signal
from the device, which can confuse the learn-
ing capability. The device should be prevented
from sending this signal during the learning
procedure. Turn off the device while program-
ming, or go to another room. Alternately, move
