Computer/connectivity problems
You cannot take a
picture
■ Turn the camera off, then on again.
■ Depress the Shutter button all the way (page 8).
■ Insert new batteries. If using rechargeable batteries,
charge before inserting (page 2 and page 3).
■ Wait until the ready light is green before attempting to
take another picture.
■ Transfer pictures to the computer (page 32), delete
pictures from the camera (page 21), switch image storage
locations (page 15), or insert a card with available
memory (page 7).
Picture orientation is
not accurate
■ Set the Orientation Sensor (page 18).
Flash does not fire
■ Check flash setting, and change as needed (see page 12).
Battery life is short
■ Wipe the contacts with a clean, dry cloth (page 3) before
loading batteries in the camera.
■ Insert new batteries. If using rechargeable batteries,
charge before inserting (page 2 and page 3).
Picture taken does not
appear as framed in
viewfinder
■ For best results (especially in Close-up mode or when
using zoom) use the camera screen to frame your subject
(page 10).

The computer does
not communicate with
the camera
■ Turn on the camera.
■ Insert new batteries. If using rechargeable batteries,
charge before inserting (page 2 and page 3).
■ Make sure USB cable is securely connected on camera and
computer port (page 32).
■ Make sure the EasyShare software is installed (page 27).
Slide Show does not
run on an external
video device
■ Adjust the camera Video Out setting (NTSC or PAL,
page 18).
■ Make sure the external device settings are correct (see the
device’s user’s guide).
