Installation Overview
1. Log on to your server as a user with administrative rights.
2. Create the SMstudent, SMteacher, and SMadmin user accounts,
and the SMusers group. See “Creating User Accounts and
Groups” on page 24.
3. Create a folder where you are going to install the SuccessMaker
Enterprise v1.6 system and share that folder with the users on your
network. See “Creating a Shared Folder for Windows
Workstations” on page 35.
4. Install SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 server. See “Installing
SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 Server” on page 47.
5. Install the Sybase SQL Anywhere Studio 8 software and the EBF
patch. “Installing and Configuring the Sybase Service” on page 49.
6. Make a backup of your database. “Performing a Live Backup of
SuccessMaker Enterprise Database” on page 55.
7. Install SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 client. See “Setting Up
