a. Connecthosetoanother
watersourcesuchasafaucet.
Ifwaterflowsthroughhose,
proceedtostep3b.Ifwateris
restricted,verifydischargehose
isunwound.Removeallkinks,
bendsorobstructionsinhose.
b. VerifypumpingheightdoesNOT
exceed20feet(SeeFigure1).If
pumpingheightisgreaterthan20
feet,thispumpwillNOTwork.
4. Periodiccleaningofpumpis
required to maintain performance of
thepump.Followthecleaningsteps
listedbelow:
a. Unplugthepowercord.
b. Removethe4screwsinthe
bottomofthebase(Reference
No.7indiagramonpage3).
c. Removethebase(ReferenceNo.
7).andinletplate(ReferenceNo.
6)
d. Removethedebrisandmake
suretheimpellerturnsfreely.
e. Reinstallinletplate,baseand
screws.
3. Forbestpumpperformance,unwind
thehosebeforestartingthepump.
Thiswillhelpremoveanykinksor
bindsinthehoseandallowtheunit
topumpwithlessrestriction.
4. Setthepumponahard,flatsurface
inthewater.Donotsetthepump
directlyonmudorsandsurfaces.This
willcausetheinletscreentoclog.
5. Thewaterlevelmustbeatleast
1-1/2 inches for the pump to prime
andoperate.
Waterlevelslessthan1-1/2inches
willnotallowtheimpellerto
contactwaterandnowaterwillbe
pumped.
Do not
handle
pump with wet hands or
when standing in water or
on a damp surface when the
unit is operating or fails to operate.
Always disconnect pump power cord
from power source before handling.
6. Plugthepowercordintoa
grounded115-voltGFCIpower
outlet.Thepumpwillstartoperating
assoonasthepowercordisplugged
intothepoweroutlet.
7. Thepumpwillremovewaterdown
to 1/2 inch above the hard surface
thepumpwasplacedon.
8. Thepumpshouldbeturnedoffonce
thewaterlevelreachesthe1/2inch
mark.
Do not allow pump
to run dry. The shaft
seal depends on water for lubrication.
Operating pump without water will
damage the shaft seal and cause pump
failure.
Maintenance
Always
disconnect electric supply
before attempting to install,
service, relocate or perform
any maintenance. Failure to do so could
result in fatal electrical shock.
Minimalserviceisrequiredforthis
pump.Ifpumpshouldfailtooperate,
performthefollowingtroubleshooting
guidelines:
1. Themotorhousingofthepumpis
completelysealedandrequiresno
service.
Disassembly of the motor
housing or alteration of the
power cord could result in
fatal electrical shock.
2. Toverifypumpisoperatingcorrectly.
a. Disconnectpumpfrompower
source.
b. Disconnectdischargehosefrom
pump.
c. Immersepumpinabucketortub
ofwater.
d. Plugpowercordintoagrounded
115voltGFCIpoweroutlet.If
pumpoperatescorrectlyproceed
tostep#3.IfpumpdoesNOT
operate,unplugpowercord
and proceed to maintenance
guidelineitem4inthissection.
