Use only certain types of glass, heatproof glass, ceramic, earthenware, or other
glazed utensils that are suitable for cooktop use. Utensils not approved for use with
ceramic cooktops may break with sudden temperature changes.
Use proper pan size Ć this appliance is equipped with one or more surface units of
different size. Select utensils having flat bottoms large enough to cover the surface
unit heating element. The use of undersized utensils will expose a portion of the
heating element to direct contact and may result in ignition of clothing. Proper
relationship of utensil to burner also improves efficiency.
Do not clean the cooktop while it is still hot. Some cleaners produce noxious fumes
when applied to a hot surface. If a wet sponge or a cloth is used to clean spills on a
hot cooking area, be careful to avoid steam burn.
Do not cook on a broken cooktop. If the cooktop should break, cleaning solutions
and spillovers may penetrate the broken cooktop and create a risk of electric shock.
Contact a qualified technician immediately.
Always have a working smoke detector near the kitchen.
Children should not be left unattended in an area where appliances are in use. They
should never be allowed to sit or stand on any part of the appliance.
CAUTION: Do not store items of interest to children above or at the back of the
cooktop Ć children climbimg on the cooktop to reach items could be seriously
injured.
Have an appropriate fire extinguisher available, nearby, highly visible and easily
accessible near the appliance.
Do not repair or replace any part unless specifically recommended in this manual.
All other servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.
To avoid electrical shock hazard, before servicing the cooktop, switch power off at
the service panel and lock the panel to prevent the power from being switched on
accidentally.
Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors, liquids or materials in the
vicinity of this or any other appliance.
