Handy hints
• For best flavor, store coffee beans in an
airtight container.
• Grind coffee beans immediately before brewing.
• Grinding times will vary depending on amount and
grind fineness.
• To ensure optimal grinding performance, allow
Coffee Grinder to cool for at least 2 minutes
between uses.
• Coffee flavor and strength is a personal preference.
Vary the type of coffee beans, amount of coffee
and fineness of grind to find the flavor you prefer.
• To grind amounts not listed on controls, select the
next closest amount.
• The Conical Burr Grinder will not grind food that is
sticky or extremely hard ie. chocolate, cheese, whole
nutmeg, candied fruits, etc.
• The Conical Burr Grinder will not make pastes of
any fruits, seeds or herbs ie. curry pastes, nut
batters.
The grind (for espresso machines)
• The coffee must be finely ground, but not too fine
(the correct grind should look gritty, like salt or sand).
• If the grind is too fine, the water, when brewing,
will not flow through the coffee even under
pressure (this grind looks like powder and feels like
flour when rubbed between fingers).
• If the grind is too coarse, the water, when brewing,
will flow too fast through the coffee too fast,
preventing a full flavored extraction.
