N.B. We strongly recommended that the water  lter is replaced after 90 days or 90 uses; more often if you
have hard water. Failure to do so can lead to a build-up of limescale and affect the performance of your ap-
pliance. Replacement  lters can be purchased directly from the manufacturer, (refer to UK After Sales
section for further details).
B Adding the Water and Ground Coffee
Before making coffee for the  rst time, we recommend operating the appliance once, using only water, to
remove any dust or residue that may remain in the system from the manufacturing process.
1. Fill the water reservoir
ß Open the lid of the Brew Central, the water reservoir is located at the back right of the machine.
ß Pour the desired amount of fresh cold water into the reservoir using the step water level indicator, located
at the rear of the reservoir.
2. Add the ground coffee
ß Remove the  lter basket from the  lter chamber by grasping the handle and lifting straight up, and then
place it on the work surface.
ß Insert a suitable paper  lter if required ensuring it is completely open and fully inserted in the basket. Or
simply use the permanent gold tone  lter.
ß Add the desired amount of ground coffee, corresponding to the number of cups being brewed. We recom-
mend using 1 level scoop of ground coffee per cup, but use more or less to suit your taste. Always ensure the
coffee used is ground to the correct consistency for a  lter coffee machine, otherwise the machine may  ood.
N.B. The maximum capacity for ground coffee is 17 tablespoons for this coffee maker. Exceeding this
amount may damage the appliance.
