Rubber splash guard
fingers trapping air inside
the chamber.
When the rubber splash guard is new, air can become
trapped within the chamber preventing water from
draining quickly. Pushing food through the rubber splash
guard will release the air and the water will drain. Over
time, the splash guard fingers will soften and flex, holding
back less air and aiding drainage.
