PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE
OVEN WILL NOT WORK • Plug on range is not completely inserted in the electrical outlet.
The circuit breaker in your house has been tripped, or a fuse has been blown.
Oven controls not properly set.
TOP BURNERS DO NOT Make sure electrical plug is plugged into a live power outlet.
LIGHT OR DO NOT
Burner holes on the side or around the top of burner may be clogged. Remove
BURN EVENLY
burners and clean them with a small safety pin or sewing needle.
Make sure you do not enlarge the holes.
BURNERS HAVE YELLOW
OR YELLOW-TIPPED
FLAMES
If burner flames look like (A), call for service. Normal burner flames should look
like (B) or (C), depending on the type of gas you use.
With LP gas, some yellow tipping on outer cones is normal.
BURNER FLAMES VERY • If range is connected to LP gas, check all steps in the Installation Instructions.
LARGE OR YELLOW
OVEN DOES NOT Make sure thermostat capillary bulb (located in upper portion of oven) is in
COOK PROPERLY correct position, not touching oven sides and not coated with anything.
Aluminum foil being used improperly in oven.
Oven vent blocked on top of range.
Oven Temperature knob set incorrectly or not turned on.
Incorrect cookware being used. Check each cooking section for cookware tips
or recommendations.
Check common problems listed in Baking, Roasting and Broiling sections.
Oven bottom not securely seated in position.
STRONG ODOR • Improper air/gas ratio in oven. Adjust oven burner air shutter.
• An odor from the insulation around the oven liner is normal for the first few
times oven is used. This is temporary.
OVEN TEMPERATURE The oven thermostat needs adjusting. See the Adjust the Oven Thermostat
TOO HOT OR TOO COLD Do It Yourself section.
SURFACE BURNERS The oven gas shut off valve may have accidentally been moved during cleaning

or moving. To check the oven gas shut off valve raise the cooktop and look
