insideoftheoven—top,sidesand
back—isfinishedwithaspecial
coafi}?gwhichcannotbecleaned
intheusualmannerwithsoap,
detergents,steelwoolpads,
commercialovencleaners,coarse
abrasivepadsor coarsebrushes.
Useofsuchcleanersand/ortheuse
ofovensprayswillcausepermanent
damage.
Thespecialcoatingis a porous
ceramicmaterialwhichis darkin
colorandfeelsslightlyroughto the
touch.If magnified,thesurface
wouldappearaspeaks,valleys,and
sub-surface“tunnels~’Thisrough
finishtendstopreventgrease
spattersfromforminglittlebeads
or dropletswhichrundownthe
sidewallsofa hard-surfaceoven
linerleavingunsightlystreaksthat
requirehandcleaning.Instead,
whenspatterhitstheporousfinish
itis dispersedandis partially
absorbed.Thisspreadingaction
increasestheexposureofoven
soiltoheatedair, andmakesit
somewhatlessnoticeable.
Soilmaynotdisappearcompletely
andatsometimeafierextended
usage,stainsmayappearwhich
cannotbe removed.
The specialcoatingworksbeston
smallamountsofspatter.
Itdoes
notworkwellwithlargerspills,
especiallysugars,eggor dairy
mixtures.
Thespecialcoatingis notused
onovenshelves.Shelvesshouldbe
cleanedoutsidetheoventoavoid
damagetothespecialcoating

4. If a spilloveror heavysoiling
occursontheporoussurface,as
soonastheovenhascooled,remove
as muchofthe soilas possibleusing
a smallamountofwateranda stiff
bristlenylonbrush.Usewater
sparinglyandchangeitfrequently,
keepingit as cleanaspossible,and
be sureto blotitup withpaper
towels,cloths,or sponges.Donot
ruborscrubwithpapertowels,
clothsor sponges,sincetheywill
leaveunsightlylintontheoven
finish.If waterleavesa whitering
onthefinishas it dries,applywater
againandblotitwitha clean
sponge,startingat theedgeofthe
ringandworkingtowardthecenter.
Donotusesoap,detergent,
steelwoolpads,commercial
ovencleaner,siliconeoven
sprays,coarsepadsorcoarse
brushesontheporoussurface.
Theseproductswillspot,clog,
andmartheporoussurfaceand
reduceitsabilityto work.
Donotscrapethe~rous
surfacewitha knifeorspatula—
theycouldpermanentlydamageit.
Theovenbottomandthe inside
ofthe ovendoorhavea porcelain
enamelfinish.Thedoorliftsoff
andthebottomcomesoutfor
cleaningawayfromthe continuous-
cleaningoven.
