. .USE & CARE……
BEFORE USING THE COFFEEMAKER FOR THE FIRST TIME:
Thoroughly clean the Cup, the Cup Lid, the removable filter, the Filter Basket,
and the Water Reservoir in hot, sudsy water; then rinse and dry.
COFFEE FILTERS
Standard basket-style paper filters, which are available in local grocery stores and
where coffeemakers are sold, should be used with this coffeemaker. The use of
cone-shaped paper filters is not recommended as they do not confirm with the shape
of the Filter Basket and may cause coffee to back-up and spill during brewing.
COFFEE YIELD
1-cup coffeemaker 400ml-cups
HOW TO BREW COFFEE
1. Place the filter cone and the internal cup in the Root External Cup.
2. Fill the water reservoir with 400ml water.
3. Add one (1) tablespoon of drip or regular ground coffee to the Root External Cup
for each cup of coffee desired. For stronger or milder coffee, increase or
decrease the amount of coffee added to suit your taste.
4. Gently shake the Root External Cup so coffee is evenly distributed in the filter
cone.
5. Slide the Cup onto the Cup Plate.
6. Press the Power Switch, the indicator light will illuminate when the coffeemaker is
in operation.
7. Allow all the coffee to drip from the Root External Cup into the Cup before
removing the Cup (approximately one (1) minute after the coffeemaker has
stopped delivering hot water to the Filter Basket). NOTE: As the coffee grounds
and filter absorb some water during brewing, the amount of brewed coffee will be
less than the amount of water poured into the coffeemaker. For safety purposes,
always keep the Cup lid on the Cup when pouring coffee. The Cup Lid will also
assist to keep the coffee at serving temperature.
8. When the coffees all drip into the Cup, the indicator light will extinguish..
9. When it is not in use or the Cup is empty, please unplug the power cord from the
electrical outlet.
BREWING A SECOND CUP OF COFFEE
To brew another cup of coffee, please rinse the cup and the Filter Basket with water.
Place a fresh filter in the Filter Basket and repeat the brewing procedure.
CAUTION: If the coffeemaker is not allowed to cool completely before reuse, water
placed in the water reservoir may overheat which may cause steam to be released
when opening the lid, resulting in a risk of burns and/or personal injury.
