Humidity level
A conventional refrigerator with its low
humidity level is not the best place to
store wine. It is very important to store
wine in an atmosphere with a high
humidity level (60-70 %) so that the
corks remain moist on the outside. Low
humidity causes corks to dry out from
the outside, and so do not seal the
bottles as tightly. Wine should be
stored lying down to keep the corks
moist from the inside too. Air entering
the bottle will inevitably spoil the wine.
Note: Before serving, stand the wine
upright for at least two hours, or the
entire day if possible, to allow any
sediment to settle at the bottom of the
bottle.
To set the humidity level
The appliance is set ex works with a
high humidity level.
If you are going to use the appliance for
long-term wine storage, you should
select the highest possible humidity
level. This will reproduce the conditions
similar to those found in a wine cellar.
The humidity level set will be the same
for all three zones.
