• Your new Café Gourmet is modern and
exclusively styled, but retains the well-proven
“classic” coffee making method of pouring a
substantial quantity of hot water onto the fresh
ground coffee. But it does so completely
automatically!
So now the full flavour of real poured coffee is
combined with the most modern comfort.
• After all the coffee has dripped into the jug you
may remove the mains cord from your Café
Gourmet and take the appliance wherever you
wish to savour your coffee: at the dinner table,
or perhaps in another room.
The special hot plate of the Café Gourmet will
keep the coffee warm for a considerable time.

Before first use
- Operate the Café Gourmet once without filling
the filter with ground coffee. (See section
“Making coffee”.)
- Next, clean the removable parts as described in
section “Cleaning”.
Cleaning
• You can clean the Café Gourmet with a damp
cloth. Always remove the plug from the mains
outlet before cleaning the appliance.
• The removable parts can be washed in hot
soapy water. Rinse with clean hot water and
dry.
Making coffee
- Take the jug (with lid) out of the appliance.
- Open the cover of the water tank.
- Fill the water tank with the required quantity of
water using the jug (fig. 2). (Ensure that the
water level is not lower than the minimum mark
and not higher than the maximum mark.)
Use fresh cold water only.
The left hand side level indications correspond
with large cups (125 ml).
The right hand side level indications correspond
with smaller cups (85 ml).
- Swing the filter support out of the appliance
(fig. 3 and 4).
- Place a filter paper type 102 into the filter holder
(fig. 5).

Important
• Before connecting the appliance, please
check if the voltage indicated on the
appliance corresponds with the mains
voltage in your home.
• Do not place the appliance on a hot
surface.
• Remove the mains plug from the wall
socket:
- if problems occur during making
coffee;
- before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not allow the mains cord to come into
contact with hot surfaces.
• Use the appliance out of children’s
reach. Prevent them from pulling the
mains cord.
• Never use the appliance if the mains
plug, the mains cord or the appliance
itself is damaged.
• To maintain perfect performance of the
unique “Café Gourmet” brewing system,
it is of the greatest importance that you
descale the appliance regularly.
For the best results we advise to let the
vinegar run through the coffeemaker
twice. (See also section “Descaling”.)
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
(See section “Cleaning”.)
• Fill the water tank with fresh cold water
only.
• When you intend to take the Café to
some other place, first remove the mains
plug from the wall socket. Then remove
the appliance plug from the appliance.
