BREWING COFFEE
Your Dual Carafe Coffee Maker is a 2-in-1 unit. Each side works inde-
pendently of the other. You can choose to brew 2 pots at once, or
1 at a time.
NOTE: The amount of brewed coffee will always be less than the
amount of water placed into Coffee Maker, since about 10% is
absorbed by coffee grounds and filter.
1. Be sure both Power Switches are in the OFF (“O”) position.
2. Plug Coffee Maker into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
3. Fill 1 or both Thermal Carafes with cold water. These Carafes hold
approximately 32 ounces of water each.
NOTE: FILL CARAFES TO 1/2 INCH BELOW THE MOUTH OF THE
CARAFE. DO NOT FILL CARAFES TO THE VERY TOP.
4. Lift the Water Reservoir Covers and carefully pour water into 1 or
both of the Water Reservoirs. Close Covers.
NOTE: DO NOT FILL PAST THE “FILL HOLE” IN THE WATER RESER-
VOIR AS THIS WILL CAUSE WATER TO SPILL FROM UNIT.
5. Place Filter Basket(s) securely onto 1 or both of the Thermal Carafes.
6. Place a paper #2 cone-shaped filter(s) into 1 or both of the
Filter Baskets.
7. Fill 1 or both Filters with desired amount of coffee. Add 1 level
tablespoon of coffee for each cup of coffee desired. If using a
scoop, use 1 scoop (equivalent to 2 tablespoons) for every 2 cups of
coffee. Increase or decrease the amount of coffee used to suit your
individual taste.
8. Place the Filter Basket Cover(s) onto 1 or both of the Filter Baskets.

DUAL THERMAL CARAFE COFFEE MAKER
In order to assure perfect tasting coffee, thoroughly clean both
Thermal Carafes, Thermal Carafe Covers and Filter Baskets in warm,
soapy water, before using your Coffee Maker. Rinse well and dry
thoroughly. Wipe unit with a soft, slightly damp cloth or sponge to
remove any packing dust.
CAUTION: Never immerse the appliance, cord or plug in water or
other liquid.
Before brewing coffee for the first time, allow cold water to cycle
through your Coffee Maker without coffee or the use of a paper
filter; this will clean the Water Reservoir prior to your first use.
IMPORTANT: Always use cold water when brewing coffee.
COFFEE FILTERS
Cone-shaped paper filters are available locally at grocery stores and
where Coffee Makers are sold. Standard #2 cone-shaped filters
should be used. Permanent gold filters may also be purchased,
eliminating the need for disposable papers filters.
The use of basket-style paper filters is not recommended, since they
do not conform to the shape of the Filter Basket and may cause
coffee to back up and spill over during brewing.
