About Utensils and Coverings
The chart below will help you decide what utensils and coverings should be used in each mode.
Small flat pieces of aluminum foil placed smoothly
on food can be used to shield areas from cooking or
defrosting too quickly. Keep foil at least 2 cm from walls
of oven.

Use microwave-safe plastic
containers for reheating and
defrosting. Some microwave-
safe plastics are not suitable
for cooking foods with
high sugar content. Follow
manufacturer's directions.
Care must be taken as
some containers warp,
melt or discolour at high
temperatures.
Only use for warming or to
absorb moisture. Care must
be taken, as overheating
may cause  re. Do not use
recycled paper towels which
may contain metal  lings.
Ovproof porcelain, pottery, glazed earthenware and
bone china are usually suitable. Do not use the container
if it has a  aw.
Care should be taken if using  ne glassware as it can break or crack if heated
suddenly.

Utensils should be checked to ensure that they are suitable for use in each cooking mode.
When heating food in plastic containers, pay special attention to the melting temperature of
the containers. Never heat the plastic containers at over their melting temperature. Keep an
eye on the oven due to the possibility of melting and ignition.
