Sharpening
General
Select the appropriate grinder opening for the knife 1) 1/ the
scissors 3/the screwdriver 2. Take note of the images on the
fold-out page.
Always press and hold the On/Off button 2) 4 with your left thumb
(see fold-out page). Thereby, grasp the appliance fi rmly. The
grinding stone rotates continuously until you release the On/
Off button 4.
When the grinding wheel is rotating, follow the steps as described 3)
in the individual chapter for the object being sharpened.
TIPS
► First present the blade when the grindstone is rotating.
► Always draw the knife or scissors back in an even movement
fr
om the blade stop, not in a repetitive back and forth move-
ment – otherwise the result will be an uneven sharpening.
► Do not apply excess pressure and always sharpen only clean
blades, so as to av
oid a premature wearing-out of the grind-
stone.
► Always sharpen knives and scissors so that the blade is at an
acute angle to the grindstone (as alluded to in the shape of
the opening). Sharpening at the false angle can destroy any
blade.
After sharpening, remove all grinding remnants that may be on the 4)
blade with a moist cloth.
