Using Your VAIO Computer
To communicate without an access point (ad-hoc)

You cannot select the 5 GHz bandwidth, which is used for the IEEE 802.11a standard, on ad-hoc networks.
The IEEE 802.11n standard, using the 2.4 or 5 GHz bandwidth, is not available on ad-hoc networks.
1 Turn on the WIRELESS switch.
The Wireless LAN indicator lights up.
2 Double-click ( / ) on the taskbar to display the Wireless Device Switch window. Select your desired wireless
option(s) and click OK.
3 Click Start and then Control Panel.
4 Click Network and Internet Connections.
5 Click Network Connections.
The Network Connections window appears.
6 Right-click Wireless Network Connection, then click Properties.
The Wireless Network Connection Properties window appears.
7 Select the Wireless Networks tab.
8 Click the Add… button.
The Wireless network properties window appears.
9 Follow the on-screen instructions.
