degreeofgrindingtofindtherightfineness
forthecoffeebeansbeingused.
• Aregularshotofespresso,thebaseof
allcafecoffees,isapproximately30mls.
Theshotofespressoisaconcentrate,so
youwillneedtovarythequantityofmilk
andadditionalhotwatertodeterminethe
strengthandvolumeofthecoffee.Ifyou
areusingalargecupormugyoumay
requireadoubleshotofespresso,rather
thanjustasingleshotdependingonyour
taste.
• Ensureyourcoffeegrindsare‘tamped’
evenly.‘Tamping’referstotheamount
ofpressurewithwhichcoffeegrindsare
packedintothefilter.
• Ifyourespressopourstooslowly,tampthe
coffeegrindmorelightly,ortryacoarser
grind.
• Ifyourespressoisthinandwatery,tamp
thecoffeegrindsharder,ortryafiner
grind.
• Alwaysusecoldmilkandacleanstainless
steeljugwhentexturingmilk.
• Alwaysusethefreshestbeansorground
coffeeavailableandstoreinanairtight
containerinacool,dry,darkplace.
• Wholecoffeebeansstayfreshlongerthan
pre-groundcoffee.
• Whengrindingyourowncoffee,nevergrind
morethanyouwilluseforimmediateuse.
Onceground,thecoffeewillbegintoloose
itsgoodness.
• Pre-warmcupspriortomakingan
espresso,eitherbyfillingwithhotwateror
placingonthewarmingplate.
• Onceprepared,servecoffeeimmediately.
• Keepyourespressomachinecleanand
