USING THE SLOW COOKER
Using your unit for the rst time:
Pour 2 cups of water into the cooking pot and cover with the lid. •
Set the Control Knob to • HIGH.
After 30 minutes, switch o and unplug. Allow the unit to cool. •
Remove the cooking pot, and discard the water. •
Rinse the cooking pot, dry thoroughly, and replace it in the base. •
The slow cooker is now ready for use.•
Normal Cooking in your Slow Cooker:
Switch the cooker to a suitable operation setting, as recommended by your recipe.
The mains indicator will light showing the unit is operational.
During Cooking:
Occasionally check the food to ensure that there is enough liquid in the pot to avoid
it boiling dry. When inspecting the food look through the glass lid. Lift the lid only
when it is absolutely necessary.
When cooking has ended:
Turn the temperature to WARM if you want to keep the food warm. Do not keep
food warm for more than 4 hours, because of the danger of bacterial infection.
When the food is ready to serve, turn the temperature control to OFF and then
switch o and unplug the cooker at the mains.
Removing the pot:
Lift the pot from the cooker by the handles using oven gloves.•
Stand the pot on a heatproof mat.•
Open the lid carefully. Tilt it slighty to allow the steam to escape and any •
condensation in the lid to run back into the pot.
The contents may now be served out.•
