New Coupling Facility Views
Six new coupling facility views have been added to show user and structure state information.
Table 1 provides a description of these views:
Data Set Usage and Delay Views
For CMF MONITOR Online, there are new views to help you determine which data sets
correspond to device usage and delay, and to help you make data set migration decisions.
The new online views are listed and described below, in Table 2.

Table 2. Data Set Level Reporting - View Names
View Description
DSVOL Data set usage and delay percentage for all data sets residing on specified DASD volume(s).
This view can be used to identify the most heavily accessed data sets on a device, and pro-
vide guidance in selecting candidates for migration to an alternate device, if several jobs are
experiencing high delays for the device.
DSJOB Data set usage and delay percentages for specified jobname(s). This view can be used to
identify the data sets a job is accessing the most.
DSDSN Data set usage and delay percentages for specified data set name(s). This view can be used
to identify all jobs that are either using or waiting for the specified data set. The informa-
tion may be used to optimize the scheduling of jobs that use the same data set(s) to reduce
device contention.
DSVOLZ Total usage and delay percentages for specified DASD volume(s). This view can be used to
identify the devices with the highest usage or delay activity, and can provide guidance in
selecting devices from which data sets may be migrated if there is high delay percentage for
the device.
DSJOBZ Totals usage and delay percentages for specified jobname(s). This view can be used to iden-
tify the jobs with the highest usage or delay activity.
DSDSNZ Data set usage and delay percentages for specified data set name(s). This view can be used
to identify the data sets with the highest usage or delay activity.
