2. If the vent-free rebox is to be installed directly
on carpeting, tile (other than ceramic) or any
combustible material other than wood ooring;
the vent-free rebox must be installed upon a
metal or wood panel extending the full width
and depth of the vent-free rebox.
3. If a raised platform is to be constructed, ceiling
clearances must be maintained.
4. Install gas piping to rebox location. See In-
stalling Gas Line on page 11 and Connecting
to Gas Supply in log set owner’s manual.
IMPORTANT: If installing blower accessory. See
Hard-Wiring Firebox, page 12.
5. Carefully set rebox in front of rough open-
ing. IMPORTANT: If installing brass trim
kit, see instructions included with brass trim
accessory. You must install shoulder screws
from brass trim kit now.
6. Carefully insert rebox into rough opening.
7. Attach rebox to wall studs using nails or
wood screws through holes in nailing ange
(see Figure 10).
8. If using optional brass trim kit, install the trim
after nal nishing and/or painting of wall.
See instructions included with brass trim ac-
cessory for attaching brass trim.
IMPORTANT: When finishing your firebox,
combustible materials such as wall board, gypsum
board, sheet rock, drywall, plywood, etc. may be
butted up next to the sides and top of the rebox.
Combustible materials should never overlap the
rebox front facing.
WARNING: Do not allow any
combustiblematerialstoover-
lapthereboxfrontfacing(see
Figure9).
IMPORTANT: Noncombustible materials such as
brick, tile, etc. may overlap the front facing, but
should never cover any necessary openings like
louvered slots.
WARNING:Nevermodifyor
cover the louvered slots on the
frontoftherebox.
WARNING:Useonlynoncom-
bustiblemortaroradhesiveswhen
overlapping the front facing with
noncombustiblefacingmaterial.
