BISTRO
– Hold the handle of the pot firmly and turn the pouring
spout away from you. Only use the weight of your hand
to exert gentle pressure onto the knob to push the filter
straight down into the pot. (Fig. 3)
You will obtain the best results if you press down on the fil-
ter rod slowly with minimal pressure. If the filter is blocked
or if the filter rod cannot be pressed down easily, remove
the rod from the pot, stir the coffee and then press it down
again.
Caution: You could break a damaged pot by applying excess
pressure, allowing hot water to gush out of the pot.
– Take the filter unit apart and clean after every use. All
parts are dishwasher-proof.
PREPARING TEA
– Refer to the above section «FILLING THE APPLIANCE».
– Take the tea filter (6) and add the required quantity of
tea. Place this in the coffee/tea jug (5). Note the position
in which the filter must be inserted. (Fig. 4)
– Place the infusion lid (8) onto the jug/filter combination
and place it onto the warming plate (4) next to the water
tank (1).
– Press the ON button (3).
After a few minutes, water will begin to flow through the
infusion lid (8) into the jug.
– The cycle ends as soon as the water tank (1) is empty.
Switch off the appliance and remove the jug (5) from the
warming plate (4).
Important note: Do not operate the appliance without water.
– Once the tea has had enough time to infuse, lift up the
infusion lid (8) and remove the tea filter (6) from the jug.
– Replace the lid for tea (7) and ensure that it has locked in
place correctly. (Fig. 5)
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
DESCALING THE COFFEE/TEA MAKER
Important: The appliance can become seriously damaged if
you do not descale it!
Remove deposits with a conventional product for use with
kitchen appliances (follow the instructions carefully) or with
citric acid dissolved in half a litre of lukewarm water.
Fill the water tank with the solution and place the jug with
the infusion lid at the correct position under the valve.
Allow the contents of the tank to flow fully through the
appliance.
Thoroughly rinse all parts with cold water and allow a
further tankful of water to flow through the appliance.
