INSTALLATION
– Place the appliance on a stable, level surface that is nei-
ther hot nor in the vicinity of a heat source. The surface
must be dry. Keep the appliance and power cable out of
the reach of children.
– When in use, do not place the base of the coffee maker
on a sheet of metal or other metal surface.
– Check whether the voltage given on the rating plate
of the appliance conforms to the mains voltage in your
region. Only connect the appliance to a properly earthed
plug with a minimum output rating of 6 A. (Use a resid-
ual current device [RCD]:ask your electrician for advice.)
When in use, the appliance plug must be accessible in the
event of an emergency. The manufacturer cannot be held
liable for accidents resulting from defective earthing or
non-earthing of the appliance.
– If the socket plug is not suitable for use with the plug on
the appliance, the socket must be replaced by a qualified
electrician.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
POWER CABLE
– A short power cable is supplied to minimise risks from
persons becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer
cable.
– An extension cable can be used if care is exercised.
– If an extension cable is used, the electrical rating of the
extension cable should be at least the equivalent of the
rating of the appliance; if the appliance is earthed, the
extension cable must be a 3-wire earthed cable. Arrange
the longer cable so that it does not hang over the edge
of a table or countertop, so that children cannot pull it or
trip over it.
